Hurricane Sandy Update


Water - A generator has been delivered to the Brant Beach pumping station, all water is up and running except Holgate, North Beach and Beach Haven.

Sewer - All sewer is up and running, except Holgate.

Storm Drains - Are in the beginning stages of being cleared of mud, sand and debris. Storm drains around Long Beach Twp Municipal and Police are clear.

Oceanfront - Public works has created a temporary dune/berm at a minimum of 8ft high on all Long Beach Township beaches.

Streets - All streets are accessible, private tracts and easements are not clear.

Drinking Water - BOIL ALL WATER FOR DRINKING/CLEANING

Military Assets - Are working to restore the beaches.

Security - Along with all our local law enforcement we are utilizing many different organizations including but not limited to Ocean County Sheriffs Department, Ocean County Prosecutors Office, New Jersey State Police, US Military, Louisiana State Police along with Florida Fish and Game.

Health Department - There is mental health assistance available. We are working to get our residents that are in shelters, into temporary housing closer to their homes.

Re-entry - This will continue to increase with less restrictions on a timely basis, based on the effects of the current nor’easter pending conditions are safe.

Volunteers/Donations - Can sign up on www.lbieoc.org. North Beach/Holgate reentry still planned for Friday 11/9.
